So I just got news today that the Microlite pilot and his passenger crashed and died a couple of days ago, which was a couple days after my flight on the microlite plane. I didn't go with this particular pilot but there were just two so I did end up meeting him and got to hear his love for hang gliding and flying. He was a very nice man father of two and really loved his job and the art of flying. He died living out his dream and he and his co-worker allowed me in it by giving me the most beautiful flight I've taken in my life! It's crazy to think that that could have been me in that accident. Yikes!! You really are forced to live in the moment here doing these crazy adventures. That being said if that did happen to me I want you all to know that I went out peacefully because this trip has been an awesome experience and I'm very content here. However if i do get some spares in the nine lives I will be coming home to good ole California to spend my living moments with y'all. Life is short guys live in it doing what you want, and find that peace inside so death is no longer a fear. I love you all and follow your dreams!

The 7 hour hike

Today I did a seven hour hike through some crossing of some sort...horrible at the names. Anyways it was awesome! I went through every terrain that there is. Started with rocky mountains, then through a summit that overlooked an active volcano, then we descended into a forest flowing with streams! It was beautiful, but at that sixth hour my ankles were hurtin! To top it all off we ended up at the best hostel ever so far! Although I had a blasty blast on this hike I have to admit that it was a bit more than what my little feet can handle. Yet I enter this hostel and right away the front desk lady gives us all energy drinks, then tells us to sit in the hot tub after we wash up to relax!! Now this is unheard of for hostels but if any of you know me the fact that she mentioned "hot tub" was pretty much a gesture into heaven itself! To top it all off she allowed all of us to upgrade from a 6 bed to a 4 bed room for just $4 and I was like hell yea! Well, since everyone is more of a cheap ass than me (yes it is true!) I was the only one to do the upgrade and therefore the only one to get my own room that fits 4 beds!! It is a Monday over here so it's not totally unheard of. But if any of you have traveled in hostels before then having a four bed room to yourself is unheard of and YES IT IS HEAVEN!!

The adventures begin!

So it is about 9pm NZ time on a Sunday, so that means it's 6pm Cali time on a Saturday! Yes I'm talking to you via the future. No worries (NZ slang) about traveling by myself over here cuz everyone is doing it! Apparently it is a very Euro thing to do especially invovling the young ladys and gents. I almost feel like I'm on a senior year field trip which would be good if i held onto the ole "i keep on getting older and they stay the same age" attitude, but shit I barely can find a guy who acts his age! Anywho, I'm having a blast out here! The tour is a bit tasking because we have designated times and we always have to keep on the move which I wasn't expecting, but since it is a forced pace I have been able to do all sorts of activities in less than a week! I've gone kayaking, surfing, and did some good ole cave acscending and rock climbing. Tomorrow a 7 hour hike awaits me and I will be sure to call at least one of you so you can have proof of my living body after that! Well, I would write much more but unfortunately I only have twenty minutes to post this and I wanted to post some pics of this beautiful country. Miss you all and take care!!
